🌍 Yesterday, the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW) 2026 concluded in Geneva.

Over the past two weeks, humanitarian leaders, UN agencies, NGOs, researchers, and private sector partners gathered to exchange ideas and shape the future of humanitarian action.

Mercy Hands Europe was proud to be part of these conversations.

Our Executive Director, Michela Maccabruni, and our Programme Coordinator, Claire Mérilhou, participated on behalf of the organization, engaging in discussions on some of the most pressing topics shaping the sector today.

💡 What stood out this year?

🔹 Anticipatory Action and innovative humanitarian financing

🔹 Corporate Philanthropy in Humanitarian Action

We were particularly inspired by the insights shared by:

• Mervat Shelbaya (@un_ocha)
• Carol Danxi Shen (Beijing Sany Charitable Foundation - @sanyglobal)
• Tracy O’Heir (Centre for Disaster Philanthropy @center4disasterphilanthropy)
• Chris Sharrock (@microsoft)
• Askaan Wohlt (Desafío Levantemos Chile - @desafiochile)
• Sarah Estermann (@caritas.schweiz)
• Daniel Pfister (@un_ocha),
• Sarah Houghton (UNDRR)
• Emilia Wahlström (UNDRR)
• Dr. Nikolas Scherer (German Red Cross - @roteskreuz_de)

and by valuable exchanges with colleagues and experts across the humanitarian ecosystem, including:

Erica Moret (@microsoft), Talha (IHH @humanitarianrelief), Gülsüm Özkaya (IHH @humanitarianrelief), Hacer Elif D. (IHH @humanitarianrelief), Borja Díaz Landa (WHH @welthungerhilfe), Augustin Karume Baderha Gang, and Michael Hyden (former Board Member of MHEU).

✨ Events like HNPW remind us that humanitarian impact depends on strong partnerships, shared learning, and collective innovation.

At Mercy Hands Europe, we look forward to building on these exchanges to continue advancing locally driven, sustainable humanitarian solutions with our partners around the world.
