🌍 Mercy Hands Europe at AidEx 2025
Together for a More Compassionate World
This week, Mercy Hands Europe joined hundreds of changemakers at AidEx 2025 — the global meeting point for humanitarian and development actors shaping the future of international cooperation.
We were delighted to visit our partner IHH (@humanitarianrelief) and exchange ideas on how to strengthen collaboration and expand our shared impact across regions. 🤝
💬 On 22 October 2025, we attended the insightful panel “Resetting the International Development Cooperation System,” moderated by Yannick Du Pont (Advisory Council on International Affairs, Netherlands), featuring:
Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Kahtani, Deputy CEO, @saudifund_dev
Birgit Nevala, Programme Director, Finnpartnership Programme – @finnfund
Evelin Masschein, Deputy CEO, @enabel_be
✨ Key takeaways that inspired us:
A growing commitment to stronger cooperation between Gulf and European partners 🤝
A reminder that trust, transparency, and long-term vision must guide every partnership 🌍
The understanding that financing alone is not enough — it’s the human impact that defines success 💡
🗓 On 23 October 2025, we joined another thought-provoking discussion featuring:
Talha Keskin, International Relations Director, IHH (@humanitarianrelief)
Zoe Knight, Senior Risk Advisor, ILS
John Ede, President & Humanitarian Coordinator, Ohana Family Foundation
Aimee Ansari, Executive Director, CLEAR Global
This conversation highlighted that ensuring duty of care in humanitarian work requires a localized, bottom-up approach — one that strengthens communication, security, and psychological support for local actors through collaboration, innovation, and shared learning between international and local organizations.
At Mercy Hands Europe, we believe the future of development lies in:
🌱 Solidarity over charity
🤝 Partnership over hierarchy
💫 Shared humanity over competition
Together, let’s reimagine cooperation — not just as a system, but as a community of hope, innovation, and shared purpose. 💙
