Michela Maccabruni, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Mercy Hands Europe, attends the ZEWO Conference on impact and effectiveness.
๐กThree inspiring speakers each bring a unique perspective:
1. Martina Ziegerer, Executive Director of ZEWO, shares the organizationโs vision and the 21 quality standards that strengthen trust between donors and organizations through transparency and accountability.
2. Christophe Dunand invites us to reflect on how we define and measure impact, emphasizing the importance of strategy, context, and meaningful data interpretation.
3. Nathalie Hรคubi presents the ZEWO Impact Tool, a practical framework that helps organizations narrate and visualize their results across projects and objectives.
What resonates most with me is how trust, transparency, and measurable impact are deeply interconnected.
Even organizations that do not yet hold the ZEWO certification can benefit from integrating these principles into their daily work.
At Mercy Hands Europe, we stay committed to continuously learning from such best practices to strengthen how we communicate our impact and accountability to our partners and supporters.
๐ In this post, we share a visual summary of the 21 ZEWO Standards โ a concise, knowledge-sharing resource for any organization aiming to enhance its governance, credibility, and effectiveness.
Thank you to the Zewo Foundation and the @la_mia_geneve for organizing this event.

๐ฟ Installation of the Greenhouse Unit!
Our partner IACO is hard at work setting up the structure of the greenhouse unit โ assembling the iron framework and securing it with cement.
๐ Next step: covering the structure with plastic sheeting โ bringing us closer to hosting thousands of healthy olive seedlings!
๐ซ Meanwhile, the olive harvest continues in Al-Bab, with our farmers busy gathering green olives for table consumption and black olives for oil production.
Grateful to our partner @iaco_sy and the generous support from the @eafoundationuk ๐

The first school sessions have officially begun! ๐ปโจ
At Shatt Al-Arab Secondary School for Girls, last week students took part in their first lessons on Microsoft Office and Artificial Intelligence, led by the dedicated teachers recently trained through the project. The atmosphere was full of excitement and curiosity as the girls explored how digital tools and AI can empower their studies and future careers.
In the coming weeks, students will continue developing their ICT and AI skills, and they will have the chance to participate in observational internships with local ICT companies, gaining first-hand experience in the world of technology and innovation. ๐๐ก
