So far, 7 Community Learning Forums (CoLFs) have been established, bringing together 242 members, including 32 men, to learn, share, and grow in their communities.
💬 These spaces are platforms for dialogue and collective problem-solving, where community members actively exchange ideas and build solutions with the support of religious leaders and elders.
We are grateful for our implementing partner Agri Service Ethiopia, and the contribution of @ville_de_geneve, Commune de Collonge-Bellerive, and Commune de Vandœuvres for making this possible.

It is through practical training and continuous support that farmers are strengthening their skills and improving productivity.
In parallel:
🌱 Strong crop progress underway, with close monitoring in place.
🐛 First pest management application coming mid-April.
Grateful to our partner @iaco_sy and the generous support from the @eafoundationuk 🙏

Rethinking Humanitarian Action in Switzerland – Challenges & Pathways Forward 🇨🇭
This week, Mercy Hands Europe, represented by Michela Maccabruni, had the honor of being invited by the @ville_de_geneve – Service Agenda 21 to contribute to a roundtable on the future of international solidarity.
The discussion explored global humanitarian trends for 2026, while reaffirming Geneva’s unique role as a key hub for international cooperation and solidarity.
The session opened with inspiring presentations of projects currently supported by the Ville de Genève, including @forwomanity, Diobasse Handicap, @optique_solidaire , @pharmaciens_sans_frontieres, @mecinstitute, @solidaritesuisseguinee, @climateactionaccelerator, Unique Happy Child.
This was followed by a presentation of the International Solidarity Hub by Étienne Lézat, Anne-Laurence Lacroix, Monique Nanchen, and Gabriela Delgado, highlighting the Ville de Genève’s funding mechanisms and priorities.
The roundtable discussion, “Challenges and Perspectives of International Solidarity”, brought together:
•Michela Maccabruni, Executive Director of Mercy Hands Europe, actively engaged in humanitarian response and development programs;
•Radoš Piletić, representing @omct.official, with a strong focus on human rights protection and advocacy;
•Julien Beauvallet, former Head of the NGO Service at CAGI and currently Attaché for International Affairs at the Canton of Geneva, bringing an institutional and policy perspective.
Beyond the exchange of perspectives, one message stood out clearly:
👉 the humanitarian sector must evolve.
As Michela Maccabruni highlighted, even with fewer resources, we have both the responsibility—and the opportunity—to do better and achieve greater impact. This means rethinking how we work: strengthening collaboration, investing in local actors, improving quality, and building more sustainable and strategic funding models.
This exchange was enriching. Seeing so many committed actors in Geneva working together to strengthen the future of the humanitarian sector was both inspiring and deeply meaningful.
